My grandma made this costume, there are pictures somewhere documenting her process at the sewing machine.
There are photos of my aunt weaving coat hangar bits into my pigtails to give me proper antennae, and of her careful application of the crazy 80’s makeup that totally “makes” this costume.
I still own the gun. It still works. It makes a whirring noise and little sparks sprout inside it when you pull the trigger.
I grew up in Ohio, where Halloween and trick or treating were during COLD weather. Our costumes had to cover every inch of skin, or have coats worked into them somehow.
