Random poem: Balance

Balance

Archetypal analogues

like deities

we could be siblings –

lovers –

both

at the scale’s eager teetering moment

when the lever finds

stillness.

Wave and particle

in this world or another –

awareness, energy

in endless possibility.

We are more alike than not

reciprocating differences

without the sunrise, no stars could light your eyes –

changeable as the sea beneath the sky

no moonlit gleam could offer warm shadow from mine.

At the lowest drop

of the pendulum swing

where eventually

weight will settle

–  spin  –

I want to embrace you

because you are the same as me and everything I’m not.

We are each others’ darkest secrets in disguise.

Together,

we can wake the divine.
