The cartoon above explains our first five hours in Athens. We got little to no sleep on the plane, and couldn’t check in at the hotel until almost 3 PM. We explored the Acropolis, but ended up snoring in the lobby for the last 45 minutes until our room was ready. However, most of this hotel’s rooms don’t have views. We got the top floor.

The museum was fantastic. The ruins and sites were well worth seeing. Climb the hill of the muses. Be awestruck.
Athens overall was a serious urban center that happened to have ancient ruins. I like the photo below to show the old world beside the new:
