Crooked roads and Pirates

mykonos road

This week’s 52 photos prompt is “Crooked Line” and I’ve selected the above photo from the roads in Mykonos town on the Greek island of Mykonos.  The port was a favorite spot for raiders and pirates, so the town was built with the idea of foiling intruders.  This is a particularly wide road for the town, and an impressive straight-away.  Yes, that housecat is to scale.

The funny thing about getting lost in Mykonos was that all of the roads eventually wound us right back around to the port.  It was clever and tricky, and we rarely saw the same street twice.

I’ve been sewing a lot lately, I suppose I could have taken a shot of my crooked seams!
